Carys Allsopp for WAY & UKYP Bradford On Avon

Hello, I'm Carys and I am 17. I live in Bradford On Avon and go to St. Laurence School.

I will be campaigning for your votes because I think young people deserve:

1. Fair Fares - A change of fare age limits on all public transport making it as inexpensive as possible for all under 18s. The amount we have to spend on public transport is outrageous, this needs to be cut.

2. More good-quality evening entertainment in Wiltshire, as well as things to do rather than just hand out at the park or on the streets - tell me what you want and I'll try and get it!

3. Make financial support easier for young people so that their is actually equal opportunity for young people to go on school trip and the like, and cheaper costs for education including transport to and from school, school meals and the amount young people have to spend on books and stationary. I would also like to see a few school reforms: Stop making constant policy changes

4. To help design and carry out a campaign for encouraging or lawfully forcing companies who offer reduced travel for young people to increase thier age limits to include all young people under 18. Also, there is a lack of bus routes in many rural areas which means that some young people are getting hurt using their mopeds or cannot get about at all without adult drivers. I will try and change this as well.

5. To have their voices heard - increase awareness of youth politics amongst young people and create more ways for them to express their opinions.

How am I different from other very similar manifestos and candidates? I want to rid Wiltshire of anti-teenager measures. I want to use modern technology to allow you to directly contact and debate issues with your MYP, so if there's anything you want on my manifesto you can just tell me. This means MY manifesto will be created by the voters and not me. I also have a lot of experience of youth politics - I sit on my town youth council and CAYPIG so i'm used to working through government bureaucracy.
