Wiltshire Skate Jam Series

The Wiltshire Skate Jam Series started on Saturday 3RD July at Westbury Skate Park followed by the second event at Melksham Skate Park, on the 31st July.  The three event initiative has been designed by young people to find the best skater, inline skater and BMX rider in the County.

The competitions have been a massive success for all, with over 50 young people competing and 70 plus spectators at each event

The events have started off with warm ups for all riders participating and then progressed into the actual competition which consisted of two age groups (under 15’s and over 15’s) in the three separate disciplines (skate boarding, BMX and in lining) all disciplines were judged by experienced riders in those categories.

Both jams have produced some great individual tricks and technical performances.  The events have been topped off by a mobile climbing wall and indo boarding coaching, giving spectators a taste of alternative sports.

For anyone interested in attending the next and final skate jam of the series the date is 4th September, 11am- 3pm at Marlborough Skate Park.

The series is organized by Wiltshire Council Sports Development and Youth Sports working with young people in the community to create a unique event and the first of its kind.
