Malmesbury area board has £6,000 available for projects led by young people aged up to 19, who have innovative ideas on how to improve their village or town and engage more in their community.
It is hoped that young people with come up with projects which create an opportunity for them to learn new skills, be creative and have fun with groups of people they might not normally mix with. Projects can involve working alongside adults and might involve helping others; carrying out conservation work or on an arts project.
Funding will be allocated by public vote at the Malmesbury Area Board on Wednesday, 7 March 2012 following short 2-3 minute presentations given by young people about their ideas.
Funding criteria, application form and guidance are attached. Bids of up to £2,000 can be applied for each project by the deadline, Friday, 13 January 2012.
If you have any questions or need help to develop your idea, please contact either Gareth Brown at Malmesbury Youth Development Centre on 01666 823747 or email Gareth.brown@wiltshire.gov.uk or Miranda Gilmour, Community Area Manager on 01672 515742 or email miranda.gilmour@wiltshire.gov.uk
