Job Seekers Allowance

If you're of working age but unemployed and actively seeking work, you may be able to claim Jobseeker's Allowance.

Are you eligible?

Jobseeker's Allowance is for people who are available for and actively looking for (seeking) work.

If you are unemployed and aged 16-17 you will only be able to claim Jobseeker's Allowance in exceptional circumstances. To find out if you qualify, go to the Directgov - Jobseeker's Allowance website.
