Creative Juice - Live Youth Music outside Salisbury Playhouse

As part of a day of arts events in Salisbury, an outdoor live music rig was set up (courtesy of Bass Connection) outside the Salisbury Playhouse venue, to celebrate youth music in Wiltshire.

A host of young musicians were given performance slots, most of whom playing acoustic guitar but included a rock group, pianists, and even a dance troupe. A crowd of passers-by and musicians congregated to enjoy the afternoon while graffiti and parkour artists performed their craft in the background.

Some of the musicians on the day have previously developed their interest in music with Wiltshire Council on courses such as Music Matters, or at the free recording studio at The Shak in Pewsey, like Adam West who performed songs written on these courses.

"My set went well and the audience seemed to appreciate it," Adam told us. "The opportunities given to young musicians at events like Creative Juice and extremely important in helping people like me develop music and performance skills."
