Cirencester Cotswold Show

Last weekend, Cirencester was taken over by hundreds of people rushing to get to the park for the Cotswold Show..a celebration with creativity, food and frolics in the sun at every turn.

From where I stood the fairground was by far the most popular area, but then I was right by it for the majority of the day. Kids paid ridiculous prices to be spun around and around until they either flew off or threw up on the 'chair-o-plane' (full marks for creativity on that one) or took a thrilling slide down the heltor sceltor. Interesting sense of fun!

But the Harry Potter show grabbed huge crowds every hour too, as Hagrid and Dumbledore took to the stage with magic and smiles. And a very impressive trick involving a smoke machine and a certain Harry 'Apparating' from the truck to the stage. Still couldn't work that one out after 5 shows. Maybe he really did magically travel from the grass to the stage?! Never know.

Monster trucks and free Yakult provided the rest of the entertainment for the day, as did Heart FM of course with a range of giant games, music, free sweets and flags, facepainting and photos from Malmesbury Photographic.

It really didn't need any of this though; the weather was gorgeous, sunny and around 30c. Britain would've been happy with an ice lolly on a day like that.
