Vote of AJ Denman from Salisbury

My name is AJ Denman and I have been a singer songwriter for the past three and a half years. I currently live in Salisbury and attend Totton college.

I typically write alternative acoustic. Although I am starting to branch out a little slowly. I'm not a typical singer songwriter in the basis that I write about life, this is anything from friendship, to love, to family.

I love acoustic music but have started to look a little into electro and also alternative. I love listening to both signed and unsigned bands to get inspiration for my music. My favourite artists and bands range from The Script, Ellie Goulding, Beck Goldsmith and Adele. These influences have really helped shape my music over the past few years and also inspire me to keep writing.

People often ask me what inspires me and my response every time is. Life in general inspires me. What I love about my music is literally anything can spark my creativity. It could be a dream, a television show or even just walking home. My other interests included drama, music technology and a little bit of filmmaking.

I would love people to hear my music to show that Salisbury and the rest of Wiltshire do have talent. One of my main ambitions is to also show that young people are creative and not just the stereotypical troublemakers. I want to do this by getting other young people to help me become The Next Brit Thing. A young people's music competition.
