There will be a lot of talented musicians locally and internationally. We welcome again ‘The Bonfire Radicals’ along with other of our great local musicians.

Calne Music and Arts Festival 2016

Once again the Calne Music and Arts Committee has put together a quality programme of music and the arts for this ten-day Festival, a programme which encompasses music and art of all genres. ‘Something for everyone’, as the expression goes. So we hope that you will again turn out in great numbers for this annual celebration and enjoy what is on offer. We continue to promote local, home grown talent and are delighted to welcome back ‘The Bonfire Radicals’ with their heady mix of Eastern European music. We also welcome the involvement of the local schools, John Bentley and St. Mary’s, as well as the primary schools’ magnificent choirs whose repertoire this year will be the songs of Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra. Calne Choral makes a welcome return with Karl Jenkins’ Requiem. A fringe event with the Crofton Stokers will this year be taking place in The London Road Inn. Local artists, both professional and amateur, will be exhibiting their work in Marden House and Calne Camera Club will be exhibiting in the Heritage Centre. Marden House, our main concert venue, is open daily for viewers to the art exhibition, lunchtime and evening concerts and CODAs. Lunches are available after the midday concerts and a bar operates most evenings. We are most grateful to Chilvester Financial for being our main sponsor for the third consecutive year, as well as to all our other sponsors, helpers and Friends who contribute in such an important way to the smooth running of the Festival. We are delighted that David Inshaw, the renowned Devizes based artist, has agreed to open the Festival for us this year.
